SENSES Learning Hub

Unit 6 Longside Studio, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, S75 4BS

All about us

At SENSES Learning Hub, with experience of being a parent, SENCo, classroom teacher and pastoral leader, we understand that every child is unique.
It can be frustrating when things don’t go to plan and an Alternative Provision can sound daunting, however you might find that it is the best environment for your child to thrive and feel more settled.
SENSES Learning Hub suits young people who require a more trauma informed, therapeutic and empathic approach where they can explore creativity in a smaller friendly and relaxed studio environment.

We offer a variety of art based, creative experiences, along with Maths and English. Our SEN framework also provides support for students who need extra support. On sight of a valid EHCP plan, we can work with the local authority, school and SENCo to create a bespoke package based on your child's individual needs.

Students will be asked to bring a packed lunch and water bottle.

Students are not allowed out over breaks, apart from when supervised by staff members when we have planned wellbeing walks and drawing,  photography and gallery visits at the Sculpture Park or time in our studio garden.

We want parents/carers of students with SEMH needs to feel connected with other parents/carers. This is why we provide a monthly parent/carer only network meeting where you can come together in our comfortable studio to have a cuppa and talk in our supportive space

Who is this service for?

Secondary aged students, 11-16 years old.  Predominantly students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges who struggle to access a full curriculum in a mainstream setting.
