Our Inclusion Offer

The Whole School approach to meeting the needs of all pupils including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is defined by the school’s vision:

  • 'Overthorpe is more than a school - we are the heart of the community.  In our family, we nurture the courage and skills to fly higher than the flock, whilst always providing a nest to come home to.'

The ethos of the school is one of nurture, and supporting each child as an individual in order to meet their needs. Staff are available for before and after school discussion time with parents and carers.  'Our Neighbourhood Nest' provides extra parental and community activities. OWLs provides inclusive before and after school provision. Nurture classroom provision supports up to 12 pupils with SEND. Emotional well-being and mental health support is of a high priority at Overthorpe.
