Reinwood Infant and Nursery School

Burfitts Road, Oakes, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD3 4YL

Description of the School

In November 2006 we were rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted and Ofsted conducted an Interim Assessment in June 2010 and established that our school's outstanding performance has been sustained.

We have 30 children per class in each of our 9 classes (3 per Year group - Rec, Yr1 + Yr2) plus our 78 place Nursery.

Admission to school is through Kirklees website, but admission to our Nursery is via school.

Transition for children with SEND is thorough. Our Inclusion Manager works closely with parents, pre-schools/nurseries and the Local Authority to ensure that there is a smooth transition into School or Nursery.

Our Inclusion Offer

At Reinwood Infant & Nursery School every teacher is a teacher of SEN and is responsible for every child’s progress and everyone in school is responsible for the wellbeing of all pupils.

Our school’s commitment is:

To create an environment which is stimulating, creative, exciting, inclusive, nurturing, happy, safe and caring;

To provide high quality teaching, which is personalised, motivating and builds on children’s prior learning

To establish supporting, nurturing and positive relationships between children, staff, parents, governors and the wider community

To plan and deliver a curriculum which is innovate, engaging, inspiring, meaningful and dynamic

To have high expectations for behaviour and learning built on the aspiration of our children, their parents, staff and governors

We work hard to build positive and effective partnerships with parents.  We value the expertise of parents in helping school to provide for children’s individual needs and plan appropriate support.

Complaints Process

Informal Stage:

Many concerns can be resolved by communicating directly with the member of staff concerned; simple clarification or the provision of information.  It is anticipated that most concerns and complaints will be resolved by this informal stage.

Formal Stage:

If your concern or complaint is not resolved at the informal stage you may choose to put the complaint in writing and pass it to the Head Teacher. If the complaint is about the Head Teacher, your complaint should be passed to the School Office, for the attention of the Chair of the governing body.

Your complaint may be resolved through a meeting with the Head Teacher (or Chair). If not, arrangements will be made for the matter to be fully investigated. You will be informed in writing of its conclusion.

Our Complaints Policy can be found via our complaints page (opens new window)
