Developing Special Educational Needs (SEND) provision in mainstream schools - Have your say!

A public consultation is now open for feedback from families on the proposal for new Additionally Resourced Provisions in mainstream schools, specialising in social, emotional and mental health; cognition and learning; and complex communication and interaction needs.

An ARP is a provision in a mainstream school, designed to provide specialist and targeted support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). ARPs receive extra funding, which means they can offer additional support and resources for the pupils who attend the provision.

Kirklees currently have 9 Additionally Resourced Provisions (known as Specialist Provisions). The plan is create more of these across the borough to ensure we can support more children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
