Big investment proposed for Kirklees special schools

The proposal is to rebuild two schools; Joseph Norton Academy (specialist SEMH school) and Woodley School (specialist Autistic school).

This would help Kirklees to support some of our most vulnerable learners, meet the growing demand for specialist school places as well as continuing the improvement of SEND provision across Kirklees.

The proposals for Joseph Norton Academy and Woodley School and College are due to be discussed at a meeting of Kirklees Cabinet (the council’s main decision making body) next week.
