Neurodevelopmental Family Navigator Service (Autism &ADHD)

 

* PLEASE NOTE - There will be a pause on all referrals to the Neurodevelopmental Family Navigator Service and Connections Service beginning 23 January 2026, while further work is undertaken to consolidate the new Early Support Offer across West Yorkshire, which is due to launch in April 2026.

During this period, referrals will pause to ensure that all families currently open to the service receive support up to 31 March 2026, and that all ongoing work is completed by this date. *

Neurodevelopmental Family Navigator Service Pilot, Barnardo's -

For parents and carers of children, young people and young adults aged up to 18 who are waiting for a neurodevelopmental assessment in Kirklees. This is a Barnardo’s service.

Who can access this service?

This service is available for families and/or individuals who are caring for someone, or who are themselves on a waiting list for an Autism and/or ADHD assessment and in need of some support.

To be eligible for the service, the young person you are supporting, or individuals themselves must:

  • be aged up to 18
  • be on the assessment pathway for Autism and/or ADHD
  • be in need of some help and advice regarding appropriate support services
How could a Neurodevelopmental Navigator support me?

Our Kirklees Neurodevelopmental Family Navigator will support you to be well informed of options that could be benefit you and your family. They will offer insight through their lived experience. This will have a starting point of 4 sessions.
