All about us

We are a charity based in Bradford with outreach across England.
We provide a wide range of services for families and professionals living and working with babies, children and young people with Down syndrome.
This includes:

  • Training in the specific learning needs of people with Down syndrome (inhouse, at our centre or to download from our website) - course include signing, behaviour, teaching reading, number skills, phonics.
  • Workshops covering topics such as toilet training, sleep, modifying behaviour, sexuality relationships education
  • Therapies - speech & language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy with specialist independent therapists
  • Health and maternity - training for midwives and health visitors
  • Early intervention - early development groups run fortnightly for children with Down syndrome aged 12 month to 6 years
  • Family support - Saturday fun sessions for families, a Sibz group, youth club for young adults with Down syndroe aged 11 to 25, Going Out Club, Gym Club, Dance Classes.
  • Adult support services - work project 'I Can Work', independent livign skills project - 'I Can Shop, Cook & Clean'

Who is this service for?

People with Down syndrome aged birth (and before) up to adulthood, their families and the professionals who work to support them across health, education and social care.
