Short Breaks Activity Support

All about us

Need help finding the right activities for your child?

Our Short Breaks Activity Support is part of the Families Together Service. We help parents and carers of children with additional needs to find appropriate, accessible, and flexible activities.

What support is available?

Support is individual to each family and may include:

  • ✅ Help finding activities (including using the Local Offer)
  • ✅ A conversation to understand what is getting in the way
  • Problemsolving around accessibility or suitability
  • Working with activity providers to explore how they could support
  • Support and assistance to communicate with providers

Some families may just need signposting. Others may benefit from more tailored support; we will work with you to find what might work.

What are we trying to do?

We aim to:

  • 🌱 Support families earlier
  • 🧭 Reduce stress and isolation for parents and carers
  • 🎯 Improve and broaden local activity options for children and young people with additional needs
  • 🧩 Identify gaps in provision and help develop new opportunities
