TCES National Online SEND School

Beacon House 3rd Floor 26-28 Worple Street Wimbledon London, SW19 4EE

Description of the School

National Online School is the UK’s first ever DfE-accredited online SEND school, providing personalised education for children and young people aged 9-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Backed by over 25 years of specialist experience as part of the TCES Group, the school has transformed the lives of SEND learners while maintaining a legacy of zero exclusions, making it the most inclusive online school in the country.

Led by a multi-disciplinary team of SEND specialists, including educators, SENDCos, clinicians, therapists, pastoral and family support staff, National Online School delivers a fully integrated therapeutic education. Its unique combination of universal and targeted interventions ensures that every student receives the personalised support they need to achieve their full potential.

We offer the core subjects of English, Maths and Science plus additional subjects. We can support students in taking Functional Skills, iGCSEs, BTECs and A-Levels, including providing remote invigilation allowing students to sit their exams at home.

Students attending our school typically have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), but we also support those who are either at the start of the EHCP process or without an EHCP.

Our Inclusion Offer

Our Inclusion Offer at  National Online School (NOS) is grounded in the belief that every young person deserves access to high-quality, therapeutic education within a fully inclusive setting.

NOS offers a nurturing environment where class sizes are kept small, with a maximum of 8 pupils per class, ensuring every student receives personalised attention and support. The school day includes academic lessons, therapeutic support, assemblies, enrichment activities, and inclusive online clubs—all designed to promote both academic success and personal development.

A key feature of our provision is our integrated therapeutic model. We employ licensed therapists who not only lead targeted therapeutic groups in areas such as:

  • Speech and Language Therapy (SALT)

  • Occupational Therapy (OT)

  • Creative Arts Therapy (CAT)

but also provide training and guidance for all teaching staff, ensuring a consistent therapeutic approach across the entire curriculum. This helps students develop crucial skills in emotional regulation, social communication, and executive functioning.

Our commitment to family engagement is central to the success of our students. Our Family Engagement Leads regularly communicate with parents and carers to provide personalised support and ensure they are kept informed of their child’s progress. Families also have access to educational webinars, which provide guidance on supporting their child’s development and navigating the EHCP process.

We offer a robust program of therapeutic and pastoral support, including access to:

  • Our specialist RISE Psychoeducation Programme, which helps students understand and manage their mental health, trauma, and emotional needs.

  • Regular check-ins with trusted staff, fostering trust, routine, and deeper engagement with learning

At the TCES Group, we have a strong ethos that we never exclude. Since 1999, TCES has never permanently excluded a student, reflecting our core belief that every child deserves a chance to succeed, no matter their challenges. This ethos is fully embraced at NOS, where we are dedicated to offering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
