Come along and chat face to face with the range of activities and services who support children and young people with SEND. They will help you get a better understanding of all the services and support available.

Kirklees Council integrates assistive technology (AT) in children’s services to enhance the independence and well-being of children with additional needs. This includes devices like epilepsy sensors, communication aids, and mobility tools, which help children participate fully in home and educational environments.
We are an adult social work team who support the following young people who;
- Have a diagnosed Learning Disability
- Have an EHCP-
- Are likely to have care act eligible needs
- Have a package of support currently commissioned by children services
We support those young people to transition from children services to adult services by assessing their care act eligible needs and putting together a care and support plan to holistically meet their assessed needs
The Care Collection provides multi award-winning home care to individuals of all ages in Kirklees and surrounding areas. Our services include companionship, domestic support, personal care through to more complex care, with minimum 1-hour calls.

"Ross Care provide both the Wheelchair Service and NHS Approved Repairer Service to eligible residents of Calderdale and Kirklees.
Our dedicated Wheelchair Service team will assess and prescribe wheelchairs, postural support and pressure cushions to meet your clinical and mobility needs. They work closely with community teams to ensure you receive a holistic assessment and are aware of all the options available to you."
The Community Enablement Team support adults (from 16 years) with learning difficulties, Autism and mental health to develop daily living skills for independence. We also provide Independent Travel Training for those wishing to further their independence out in the community.
Intensive Interaction helps people with complex social and communication needs (eg Autism) to develop the Fundamentals of Communication. The Hub aims to provide support for anyone eg parents, teachers, using Intensive Interaction to enable them to become the best communication partner possible - "People who have difficulty socialising NEED to socialise just as people who have difficulty breathing NEED to breathe" - it is up to the rest of us to assist them to overcome these difficulties.
Support to find and maintain employment for people with a learning disability and/or autism, 18 years +, who live in Kirklees.
Carers count is a charity who support unpaid carers to continue their caring role . By offering information and advice, advocacy ,training and peer support. All free to unpaid carers in Kirklees
We are a small respite service based in Huddersfield. We have 5 double rooms, all en suite with an enclosed garden.

Team providing an MDT approach to adults with a learning disability in Kirklees. Available for discussions about what our service can provide but also to ease any anxieties around transition periods from children to adult services.
We provide training courses for adults with a learning disability. We talk about relationships, sex, our rights, consent and how to spot abuse.

Ivison Trust supports parents / carers of children who are at risk of, or being exploited. Offering advise and support with Child Criminal Exploitation and Child Sexual Exploitation and Online Harms.
"Adaptations are changes that can be made to your home to make it safer and easier for you to move around and do everyday tasks.
The service is provided for people of any age with a health need who are struggling in their home environment - this includes children with a disability. We work with people living in any type of housing including those who may rent or who own their own home."
Barnardo's Kirklees Young Carers Service provides EHWB support to children and young people ages 8-18 who care for someone with an illness, condition or disability. We do this through bespoke 1:1 sessions and group work programmes. We also provide activities where young carers can meet each other and have some fun away from their caring role.

"Multi-sensory Zone at The Zone in Huddersfield. An immersive and interactive environment available to use for adults, young people and children.
Children and adult Learning/ and or Physical Disability Sports activities through the ‘Together We Are’ Giants Community Trust initiative.
The sessions are designed to create cohesive opportunities for individuals to enjoy a controlled and safe leisure environment involving fundamental and engaging sporting opportunities, for all abilities."
We provide a service in the home and in a group setting within Kirklees. Group settings are in Huddersfield and Dewsbury every Saturday.
We offer flexi-eduction, 1:1 tuition, parent courses, full diagnostic dyslexia assessments and specialist dyslexia tuition.

A theatre company with an ensemble of 9 actors with learning disabilities. Also offers educational and engagement opportunities.
"I am part of the Just Finance Foundation, and through our LifeSavers initiative, we provide a free financial education programme for primary, SEND and alternative provision schools across the UK. Our resources have a whole school approach to learning about money.
Our resources incorporate real life learning examples, are flexible to use and are curriculum aligned. We also have newly developed resources that suit more informal learning opportunities and were created following a research project in AP/PRU and SEMH settings."

"Our Physiotherapy Team works to support children and young people aged 0-16 years in the North Kirklees area. We work with children and young people with a wide range of conditions that affect their movement, posture, or physical skills development. We support children and young people to do what they need to do – grow, play, learn and be a part of family, school and social activities.
Our Occupational therapy team provide a child-centred, family-orientated approach and will see children in a variety of settings most appropriate to them. We enable the child to reach their maximum developmental potential and gain independence in performing daily living activities. Occupational therapy can help children grow, learn, have fun, socialise, and play so they can develop, and support them to reach their full potential.
The Sensory Occupational Therapy team works with children whose sensory needs make day-to-day tasks more difficult. We work closely with education and health to make sure the adults working with children and young people have the skills they need to recognise their sensory needs. We work alongside other professionals to adapt environments and put strategies in place to meet sensory needs. This helps to support a calm environment, encourage attention, participation and independence."

Our Outdoor Learning Team deliver high quality outdoor focused activities and Duke of Edinburgh's Award programmes.
The Young People's Activity Team (YPAT) support families to identify and overcome barriers to accessing community activities and also provide activities for young people with additional needs.
Schools Out involves a huge range of community providers who deliver inclusive holiday scheme activity programmes activities through Holiday and Food Activity (HAF) Funding.

"Kirklees hosts several additionally resourced provisions across the LA which are sited within mainstream school settings.
These are to support young people with an EHCP who may benefit from access to a smaller more bespoke education offer, whilst still being able to link with a mainstream curriculum offer and/or peer group.
We have ARPs linked to SEN areas of need including Communication and Interaction, Social Emotional & Mental Health and Sensory and Physical."
Kirklees Early Years SEND ( EYSEND) offer support, advice and guidance about children's early learning needs to parents / carers, pre school and day care settings, childminders and mainstream school provision supporting children up to the end of their Reception year. We also offer a full and varied training package aimed at developing confidence in the Early Years sector to deliver high quality inclusive practice and meet the needs of children with additional needs.
Dingley's Promise is a national organisation who are currently providing free Early Years SEND training to anyone in Kirklees supporting children under 5 who have additional needs. As of May 25 over 1500 learners have enrolled on the training and 36 local settings have achieved the Dingley's Promise Mark of Achievement award. "Specialist Independent school for learners with an EHCP aged between 8 and 18. Learners are placed via a consultation with Local Authorities.
We have a range of offers including a bespoke outreach programme for learners who are EBSNA, a school for site learners with social and emotional needs, ADD or have developmental trauma and a site for learners who are neurodivergent."
"Elevate is the overarching name for our young adult’s service, which is made up of multiple strands that support the wellbeing of our young community, currently focusing on young adults aged 18-26 living in Kirklees. Elevates aims are to provide holistic support to young adults to help them to acquire the confidence, self-esteem and life skills, specifically amongst young adults who are NEET (not in employment or education).
Our employability programme aims to help young adults to seek employment whilst being provided with the opportunity to test out the employment world through volunteering and work placements."
"TCES National Online School is the UK’s first and only DfE-accredited online special school, recognised through the Online Education Accreditation Scheme (OEAS). We provide full-time, small-group therapeutic education for students aged 7 to 25 with a range of complex needs, including EBSA, SEMH, ASC, and for those unable to attend school in person.
Our offer includes academic teaching, pastoral support, assemblies, and extra-curricular clubs, creating a holistic and engaging learning experience. Students can join on a short-term basis to re-engage and prepare for reintegration into in-person settings, or on a longer-term basis, working towards qualifications such as GCSEs, A-Levels, Functional Skills, and AQA Unit Awards."
