Kirklees Keep in Mind engagement

Kirklees Keep in Mind engagement

The funding for mental health services for children and young people across Kirklees is changing from April 2024. This provides an opportunity to develop a new model which will offer a more consistent service to children and young people; parents and carers; educational settings; and a new entry point to access support.

We are developing a new offer called Kirklees Keep in Mind to deliver our national requirements based on evidence, learning and feedback.

What are the proposals?

  • There will be one entry point for Kirklees Early Support and Kirklees Keep in Mind for children and families living in Kirklees.  This will be for young people (0-19), families, schools, partner services including third sector organisations and GPs, for professionals to decide on the appropriate support and course of action.
  • It is important to have the right people at the point of entry - multi-agency, multi-disciplinary, working in partnership. Co-location (working in the same place) is needed to help improve communication and consistency of decision making, with effective sharing of information.
  • It is recommended that information and advice should be included in the new pathway.
  • The aim is to have a holistic approach to consider the wider context, to ensure improved outcomes for children, young people and their families and to improve the timeliness of support.

You can find full details of the proposed changes here (downloads PDF)

Please let us know your views by completing the online survey. We will reflect on the findings of this engagement with the intention of having the new service offers in place from April 2024.

The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete.  The deadline for completed surveys is Midnight on Sunday 12 November 2023.

If you would like help to complete this form or would like it in a different format (such as large print) please contact Kirklees ICB Programme Management Office on wyicb-kirk.kirkleeswakefieldpmo@nhs.net
