Kirklees CAMHS Autism Intensive Support Team (IST)

The specialist team provides intensive and multidisciplinary input to young people who have a diagnosis of Autism and who present with behaviours that increase the risk of them either encountering the criminal justice system; having an admission to a specialist hospital; or those young people that are at risk of a placement breakdown; for example, home or school.
Who is this service for?
The IST work with young people within Kirklees who meet the following criteria:
- Registered with a Kirklees GP
- Up to the age of 18
- Diagnosis of Autism
- Risk of going into a specialist hospital because of a mental health problem or behaviour which is seen as challenging
- Risk of a breakdown in care at home, school, or other setting

Children/young people and their families can seek support within working hours from CAMHS duty system available via the main phone number (01422 262380) and can seek support out of hours from GP / 111 services.
