Targeted Provision

Description of the School

Every young person deserves access to a high-quality education that meets their unique needs.

Targeted Provision provides a supportive and tailored educational experience for young people who find the mainstream environment is not meeting their needs.  We are led by principles of relational learning, building strong, trusting relationships that empower young people to re-engage with learning and take ownership of their educational journey.

WE PROVIDE 1:1 OR SMALL GROUP SUPPORT FOR LEARNERS FROM EARLY YEARS TO POST-16 WHO:

  • - have SEND (including those with EHCPs)
  • - have SEMHneeds.
  • - are experiencing Emotionally-Based School Avoidance.
  • - are permanently excludedor at risk of permanent exclusion.
  • - are awaiting a special school or PRU placement.
  • - are care-experiencedor a child with a social worker.
  • - are known to the Youth Offending Team.
  • - are medically unable to attend school.
  • - are a UASC and / or require ESOL support.
  • - are post-16 and would benefit from support with life skills, including transitioning into education, employment or training.

We have spearheaded a step-change for vulnerable learners in England. In the face of growing challenges in the UK's education sector - such as a shortage of special school places, a lack of available professionals, and a marked increase in young people missing education due to unmet SEMH needs - we saw a pressing need for transformation in alternative provision.

  • - Our tutors are qualified teachers with at least 3 years of experience supporting vulnerable learners.
  • - Every tutor is paired with a SEND Specialist from our central Support Team. This team includes a SENDCo, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Designated Mental Health Need and SEND specialist teachers with extensive experience across mainstream schools, special schools and alternative provision. They support tutors to meet young people’s unique needs and consistently monitor the attendance and progress of each young person, reporting weekly to commissioners.
  • - Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do . We employ industry-leading safeguarding measures, including an on-duty safeguarding team 24/7, to keep young people, tutors, and families safe.
  • - We work collaboratively with the Team Around The Child and can participate in  EHCP/PEP/strategy meetings where needed.
  • - We are a registered Functional Skills exam centre and can offer entry into public examinations
such as GCSEs and A-Levels in some parts of the country.
